Position: Cyber Security Specialist / Navy Qualified Validator

Objective:

KMS Solutions, LLC is in search of a skilled Cyber Security Specialist with Navy Qualified Validator credentials to enhance our dedicated team of professionals. This role involves providing expert cyber security support and validation services to the Combat Systems Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep knowledge of NAVY (DON) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and familiarity with IT and networking systems.
  • Evaluate existing systems' Assessment and Authorization (A&A) System Security Plans; identify vulnerabilities and propose corrective measures.
  • Analyze Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and create comprehensive Risk Assessments.
  • Utilize and comprehend RMF guidelines, including the RMF Process Guide and NAVSEA Business Rules.
  • Conduct thorough security control assessments in line with NIST SP 800-37 standards.
  • Proficient in using e-MASS for security assessments.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail; effectively collaborate within a team and independently.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Secret DoD clearance.
  • Certification in IAM/IAT (minimum Security +; CAP, CASP, or CISSP preferred).
  • Two to five years of relevant cyber security experience.
  • Ability to obtain Navy Qualified Validator status through the NAVY SCA.
  • Experience with ACASS, STIGViewer, and eMASS tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Cyber Security.
  • Experience with DoD 5000, active-duty Navy, or Navy acquisition is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Engineering background related to undersea warfare systems or Combat systems.
  • Over four years of experience with Navy RMF.
  • Current Navy Qualified Validator status.

  • Adept at problem-solving and working effectively in both team-oriented and independent settings.
