Job Summary

TalentBurst, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the physical resources operations in a residential dormitory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and operations of the residential dormitory to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for students.
  • Staff Supervision: Direct the day-to-day activities of custodial staff, building trades, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of work.
  • Security and Safety: Maintain the security of the buildings through proper attention to access control, security procedures, and the condition of locking devices.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Review and monitor computer-based HVAC, security, and fire systems, and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with faculty deans, resident deans, and other stakeholders to provide a smoothly functioning residential community.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Advanced education and/or technical training beyond high school, with 5+ years of experience in facilities management, including staff supervision.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience with building automated control systems, including security and HVAC.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to assess needs, set priorities, and deal with stressful situations.
Working Conditions

The Facilities Manager will work in a fast-paced residential environment, interacting with students, faculty, and staff on a regular basis. The position requires occasional planned weekend work, including student move-in and move-out, and Summer School move-in.
