Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday shift, 2:30pm-10:30pm, Wed, Th, Sat 8:30-3:30pm

Pay Rate: $26.01/hour

Location: Onsite

PROGRAM SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Respond to Warm Line inquiries
  • Provide primary support to volunteer phone workers during challenging calls
  • Work one to three shifts weekly as the Shift Mentor
  • Assist in acclimating new Warm Line Phone Workers through guidance and debriefing
  • Facilitate debriefing sessions with peers on shift
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of calls and sign off as appropriate
  • Meet bi-weekly with the Warm Line Supervisor for role debriefing and mentorship discussions
  • Participate in Warm Line training sessions as a role play mentor when necessary
  • Engage in ongoing educational events and activities
  • Foster a sense of camaraderie among team members through discussions and activities
  • Encourage self-autonomy for callers and volunteers, supporting their growth and recovery journeys
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Knowledge of Recovery Principles
  • Advanced personal recovery experience
  • Certified Peer Counselor or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (including 200 hours as a phone worker on the Warm Line or equivalent volunteer experience)
  • Successful completion of at least one training period as a Warm Line Apprentice Peer (can be completed post-hire)
  • Completion of Mentor Training provided by Crisis Connections (can be completed post-hire)
  • Minimum age of 21 years

Working Conditions: This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Individuals must be able to use a headset or earphones while taking calls and attending meetings. Proficiency in managing multiple IT/software platforms simultaneously is essential, as is the ability to work in a moderately noisy and distracting environment.

  • This position may involve discussions about sensitive topics, including mental health issues and crisis situations.
