Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday shift, 2:30pm-10:30pm, Wed, Th, Sat 8:30-3:30pm

Pay Rate: $26.01/hour

Location: Onsite in Seattle, WA

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Respond to Warm Line inquiries
  • Provide primary support to volunteer phone staff during calls, especially in challenging situations.
  • Work one to three shifts weekly as the Shift Mentor
  • Guide new Warm Line Phone Workers throughout their training period, offering support and feedback
  • Facilitate debriefing sessions with peers on shift
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of calls and provide sign-off as necessary
  • Meet bi-weekly with the Warm Line Supervisor to discuss mentoring experiences and options
  • Participate in Warm Line training sessions as a role-play mentor when required
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities
  • Foster team spirit through discussions and activities
  • Encourage self-autonomy for callers and volunteers, supporting their growth and recovery journeys
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Knowledge of Recovery Principles
  • Advanced personal recovery experience
  • Certified Peer Counselor or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of experience (including 200 hours as a phone worker on the Warm Line or 200 hours of volunteer experience on another line at Crisis Connections, or two years of full-time work as a Certified Peer Counselor with references).
  • Successfully serve as a Warm Line Apprentice Peer during at least one training period (can be completed post-hire).
  • Complete Mentor Training provided by Crisis Connections (can be completed post-hire).
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Working Conditions: Candidates should be able to sit or stand for extended periods. The role requires the use of a headset or earphones while handling calls and attending meetings. Individuals must manage multiple IT/software platforms simultaneously and work effectively in a moderately noisy environment.

  • This position may involve discussions surrounding suicide, mental health issues, and crisis response.

Computer Skills Assessment: Crisis Connections requires candidates to complete a basic Computer Skills assessment to evaluate computer literacy. The assessment lasts approximately 15 minutes and is timed. HR will provide a link for completion after screening qualified candidates.
