Job Overview

Compensation: $35.45/hr, with an additional $4/hr for night shifts

Crisis Connections is dedicated to providing a range of telephone-based support services that are accessible to individuals in our community facing crises. Our mission is to promote resilience and well-being by connecting individuals to compassionate support.

Position Summary

As a Crisis Services Clinician, you will be a licensed Mental Health Professional equipped with extensive training in critical crisis service functions. Your primary role will involve managing all operations within the call center, collaborating with clinical staff and paraprofessionals throughout your shifts.

This position is fully supported by a Clinical Management team and offers supervision hours towards licensure, including both direct and indirect service hours.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Crisis Service Coordination: Oversee phone staff and provide guidance during shifts, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  2. Mental Health Triage: Conduct assessments on crisis calls, evaluate risk factors, and implement effective clinical interventions.
  3. Hospital Diversion and Authorization: Manage the Hospital Authorization Line, ensuring thorough screening and documentation of referrals.
  4. Community Consultation: Offer professional advice to callers regarding mental health resources and crisis intervention strategies.
Training and Development

New hires are expected to complete a series of training shifts and online modules prior to commencing their scheduled duties. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with a minimum of 12 hours of training annually.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Master's degree in social sciences and have at least two years of supervised experience working with individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges. Candidates with prior experience in the public mental health system are preferred.

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to manage multiple IT/software platforms in a moderately noisy environment while maintaining focus on client interactions.
