Pay Rate: $26.01/hour

Location: Onsite in Seattle, WA

PROGRAM SUMMARY

Become an integral part of the Crisis Connections mission, dedicated to linking individuals facing physical, emotional, and financial challenges with essential resources. POSITION SUMMARY

  • Respond to Warm Line inquiries
  • Provide primary assistance to volunteer phone operators during calls, especially in challenging situations.
  • Commit to one to three shifts weekly as the Shift Mentor
  • Guide new Warm Line Phone Workers through their training period with support and debriefing
  • Facilitate call debriefing sessions with all peers on duty
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of calls and approve as necessary
  • Meet bi-weekly with the Warm Line Supervisor for role debriefing and discussion
  • Engage in Warm Line training sessions as a role play mentor on Saturdays as required
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities
  • Foster team spirit through discussions and group activities
  • Encourage self-autonomy for callers and volunteers, supporting their growth and recovery
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Recovery Principles
  • Advanced personal recovery experience
  • Certified Peer Counselor or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
  • At least one year of experience (including 200 hours as a Warm Line phone worker or equivalent volunteer experience) or two years of full-time work as a Certified Peer Counselor (references required).
  • Successfully complete the Warm Line Apprentice Peer role during at least one training period (can be completed post-hire).
  • Complete Mentor Training provided by Crisis Connections (can be completed post-hire).
  • Minimum age of 21 years

Working Conditions: Individuals in this role should be prepared to sit or stand for extended periods. The ability to use a headset or earphones while taking calls and attending meetings is essential. Candidates must manage multiple IT/software platforms simultaneously and work effectively in a moderately noisy environment.

  • This position may involve discussions regarding suicide, mental health challenges, and crisis response.

Computer Skills Assessment: Crisis Connections requires candidates to complete a basic Computer Skills assessment to evaluate computer literacy. This assessment lasts approximately 15 minutes and is timed. HR will provide a link for completion after screening qualified candidates.
