Automation Systems Engineer

NESCO Inc is seeking to enhance its engineering team by adding three skilled Controls Engineers.
As a Controls Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to deliver technical knowledge within the department, focusing on both new and existing product innovation, as well as process and production operations.
You will keep upper management informed of any challenges by executing the following key responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive engineering schedule for all projects.
- Lead, coordinate, and mentor team members to meet the objectives outlined in the master schedule.
- Draft specifications for equipment and tooling, and manage the design, construction, installation, and testing of new systems according to the master schedule.
Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- Creating all necessary documentation for capital investments and securing approvals from senior management.
- Establishing manufacturing processes that align with key performance indicators (KPIs) related to investment, cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Generating comprehensive documentation for processes, including specifications, risk assessments, process plans, and work instructions.
You will also:
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives post-production.
- Engage in problem-solving and root cause analysis to address and mitigate defects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and client standards.
Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates must possess:
- Expertise in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and electronic control systems.
- Ability to create complex PLC programs and design control circuits.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and suppliers.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with drafting software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is essential.
Physical Demands: The role may require the ability to lift and move objects, and the employee may be exposed to mechanical parts and varying environmental conditions.
Work Environment: The work environment is typically moderate in noise and may involve exposure to moving parts and high places.
