POSITION SUMMARY

The role provides specialized technical knowledge for the department, concentrating on both the innovation of new products and the enhancement of existing ones, alongside overseeing production processes. The incumbent will ensure that management is updated on any challenges encountered through the execution of the following responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  1. Formulate and oversee a comprehensive engineering timeline for all initiatives. Guide, coordinate, and mentor team members to meet all objectives outlined in the engineering schedule.
  2. Draft specifications for equipment and tooling, and manage the design, construction, installation, initiation, and testing of new equipment and tooling in alignment with the engineering timeline.
  3. Generate all necessary documentation for capital expenditures and secure approvals from senior management.
  4. Establish manufacturing protocols that fulfill all key performance indicators related to capital investment, production costs, waste management, product performance, delivery timelines, layout efficiency, safety standards, ergonomic considerations, and quality benchmarks.
  5. Create comprehensive documentation for processes, including specifications, PFMEAs, risk assessments, process plans, PFDs, work combination tables, design evaluations, trial reports, work instructions, condition standards, and capacity tracking.
  6. Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives post-production.
  7. Proactively develop processes that minimize defect transfer to subsequent processes while implementing countermeasures for those that do, sharing best practices across similar processes.
  8. Engage in problem-solving and investigation using root cause analysis and reporting methodologies.
  9. Execute all tasks in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company protocols and best practices.
SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
- Capability in mechanical and/or electrical design for equipment and tooling.
- Effective communication skills to articulate requirements to clients and suppliers.
- Proven project management and leadership abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create technical documents and presentations.
- Competence in interpreting technical drawings and leading design reviews, as well as developing PFMEAs.
- Expertise in conducting root cause analysis for current and potential issues.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and the Toyota Production System.
- A robust work ethic, with a commitment to project ownership and maintaining high productivity levels.
- High aptitude for grasping engineering concepts and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of TS and ISO standards.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality records.
- Experience in a multicultural work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

COMMUNICATION ABILITIES

Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with problem-solving capabilities.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and Project.
Experienced in using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.

MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCIES

Understanding of calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced mathematical concepts for analysis, design, and troubleshooting. Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and apply statistical methods.

REASONING SKILLS

Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions. Capable of interpreting a wide range of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms while managing multiple variables.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical components. The employee may occasionally work at heights and be exposed to moderate noise levels. The employee may also encounter wet and/or humid conditions and extreme temperatures.

POSITION TYPE AND WORK HOURS

This is a full-time role, with working hours typically from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on job demands.

Salary Information:

Salary: $75,000+ annually (compensation will be based on education and experience related to the position).
