NESCO Inc. is seeking to enhance its engineering team by adding skilled Controls Engineers. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing specialized technical knowledge to support both new and ongoing product initiatives, as well as process and production operations. You will be responsible for keeping upper management updated on any challenges or issues encountered during your duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  1. Formulate and oversee a comprehensive engineering timeline for all projects, ensuring effective leadership and coordination to meet all objectives outlined in the master schedule.
  2. Draft specifications for equipment and tooling, and manage the design, construction, installation, commissioning, and testing of new systems in alignment with the established timeline.
  3. Prepare all necessary documentation for capital investments and secure approvals from senior management.
  4. Design manufacturing processes that fulfill all key performance indicators related to capital investment, production costs, waste reduction, product performance, delivery schedules, layout optimization, cycle times, efficiency, safety, ergonomics, and quality standards.
  5. Generate comprehensive documentation for processes, including specifications, PFMEAs, risk assessments, process plans, PFDs, work combination tables, design evaluations, trial reports, work instructions, condition standards, and capacity tracking.
  6. Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives post-production.
  7. Actively work to create processes that minimize the transfer of defects to subsequent stages while implementing countermeasures for those that do.
  8. Utilize root cause analysis to address and resolve issues effectively.
  9. Conduct all tasks in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and client protocols and best practices.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

Expertise in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and electronic control systems.
Capability to develop complex PLC programs from the ground up and design control circuits accordingly.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as Ethernet, CC-Link, and serial communication.
Experience in programming and instructing IAI and six-axis robots.
Ability to write macros and manage IP addressing.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey requirements to clients and suppliers.
Proven project management and leadership abilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create technical presentations and documents.
Competence in interpreting drawings, identifying critical features, leading design reviews, and developing PFMEAs.
Ability to conduct root cause analysis for existing and potential issues.
Familiarity with Toyota Production System and lean manufacturing principles.
A strong work ethic, accountability for projects, and a commitment to maintaining high productivity levels.
A keen aptitude for grasping engineering concepts and new technologies.
Knowledge of TS and ISO standards.
Consistent attendance and punctuality.
Experience in a multicultural work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with problem-solving capabilities.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and Project.
Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Knowledge of calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced mathematical concepts for analysis, design, and troubleshooting. Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and apply mathematical techniques to tasks such as frequency distribution and variance analysis.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Proficiency in interpreting a wide range of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms while managing multiple variables.
