Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Automation Control Engineer with 3-5 years of relevant experience to contribute to our innovative projects. This role provides a unique opportunity for career advancement within a family-owned enterprise that has been a leader in the industry for over 60 years. The position involves travel requirements of 25-50% across North America and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Implementation: Understand and assist in the design, execution, and troubleshooting of PLC programs utilizing Beckhoff Automation software for extensive industrial applications.

Standards Maintenance: Uphold programming standards and best practices while delivering effective solutions to our clients.

Technical Documentation: Read and interpret various schematics, including electrical and hydraulic diagrams.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in the US and Austria to support PLC systems integrated with HMIs, SCADA systems, and other industrial control technologies.

Customer Interaction: Engage regularly with clients and operators remotely to diagnose software challenges and provide immediate solutions.

On-Site Support: Participate in installations, commissioning, and training sessions for customers.

Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in industrial automation.

Project Leadership: Provide technical guidance on projects, including system architecture and planning.

Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and support the professional growth of the team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial automation and PLC programming.

- Advanced skills in various PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, Omron, Schneider Electric).

- Proficiency in Beckhoff programming language is preferred.

- Extensive experience with HMI development, SCADA systems, and industrial networking.

- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SQL, TwinCAT3, and Delphi is advantageous.

- Knowledge of IIoT platforms and cloud integration (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT).

- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Control Systems Technician) are a plus.

- Strong understanding of industrial processes and manufacturing systems beyond conveyor machinery.

- Excellent project management and communication skills with clients.
