Position Overview

Lowell School, a forward-thinking educational institution, is in search of dedicated after school care staff who possess a diverse skill set, particularly in overseeing and planning engaging activities for children ranging from preschool to elementary school age.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for working with children
  • Proven experience in child engagement and supervision
  • Capability to instruct and facilitate various STEAM and recreational programs
  • Strong character, integrity, and flexibility
  • Effective communication skills across different age groups and skill levels
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a team environment
  • High energy, a sense of humor, patience, and self-discipline
  • At least one year of college education or equivalent experience, and must be at least 18 years old

  • A playful attitude to engage and entertain children

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee activities for assigned age groups.
  • Manage snack times while being mindful of food allergies.
  • Facilitate off-campus activities during school breaks.
  • Guide and support free-choice activities and recess.
  • Assist with transitions to enrichment programs.
  • Communicate student needs and behaviors to administrative staff.
  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans for free-choice activities.
  • Ensure students engage in creative, hands-on, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
  • Encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity among students.
  • Support students in grades two and above with homework assistance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Capability to navigate school facilities and ensure student safety during emergencies.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.

This role is part of the Auxiliary Programs Administrative Team.

Compensation: $21.00 per hour
