Position Overview

Lowell School, a forward-thinking educational institution serving approximately 315 students, is in search of dedicated after school care facilitators. The ideal candidates will possess diverse skills, particularly in supervising and planning engaging activities for preschool through elementary school-aged children.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for working with children
  • Proven experience in child supervision and engagement
  • Ability to instruct and lead various STEAM and recreational activities
  • Strong character, integrity, and flexibility
  • Effective communication skills with diverse age groups and skill levels
  • A collaborative spirit and a team-oriented mindset
  • Enthusiasm, humor, patience, and self-discipline
  • At least one year of college education, minimum age of 18, or relevant work experience

  • A playful attitude to entertain and engage children

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee activities for assigned age groups.
  • Manage snack times while being mindful of food allergies.
  • Facilitate off-campus activities during school breaks.
  • Guide and supervise free-choice activities and recess periods.
  • Assist in transitions to enrichment classes.
  • Communicate effectively with administrative staff regarding student needs and behaviors.
  • Design weekly lesson plans for free-choice activities, including necessary material requests.
  • Ensure that learning experiences are creative, interactive, and suitable for the age group.
  • Encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity among students.
  • Support students in grades two and above with homework assistance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Must navigate school facilities and lead students to safety in emergencies.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.

This role is under the supervision of the Auxiliary Programs Administrative Team.

Compensation: $21.00 per hour
