Position Overview:

Are you passionate about nurturing children's growth? Have you considered leading educational activities that inspire young minds? If so, Washington Yu Ying is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative individuals to positively influence children's lives through our REEF program.


The REEF aftercare initiative is in search of motivated support staff who will play a vital role in promoting the intellectual and emotional development of children. This role involves daily interaction with students, fostering trusting relationships with children, families, and educators.

This position serves as an excellent entry point into the field of childhood education.



Essential Responsibilities:
Monitor and assist in the organization of before and aftercare (REEF) programs for designated classrooms.

Proactively contribute to the success of daily activities designed by Lead Teachers.
Facilitate classroom activities multiple times a week.
Observe student behavior to encourage growth and recognize achievements. Communicate positive feedback to parents.
Support students in maximizing their engagement in planned activities through encouragement and positivity.
Innovate educational methods and challenge yourself to lead unique activities.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning experiences.

Lead and facilitate activities created by Lead Teachers in their absence, consulting with the REEF Team Lead or Manager for any questions or concerns.

Anticipate the needs of both teachers and students to ensure smooth activity execution. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve program goals and objectives.
Supervise and ensure student safety during aftercare activities on campus and during field trips as needed.
Ensure students are actively engaged in REEF classes throughout each session.
Assist in supervising transitions between classes and group activities.
Help supervise students during monthly field trips, ensuring safe transitions.

Support Lead Teachers in maintaining cleanliness and organization of all areas utilized during REEF programs.

Ensure that Lead Teachers have the necessary materials for their classes each day.
Assist with additional REEF operational tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Friendly and approachable demeanor; ability to connect well with children and staff.
Experience in before-and-aftercare program management is advantageous.
Basic technology skills are required, including proficiency in Google Suite, particularly Gmail. Familiarity with Mac systems is preferred.

Must demonstrate self-motivation, effective time management skills, and the ability to work independently while exhibiting proactive problem-solving and crisis management abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong motivational capabilities, are essential.

Terms of Employment: 10 Months

Working Environment:
In-school.

This role is based on-site and will expand to include additional campuses, fostering interaction with students, parents, and staff.
