Salary Range: $49,670 - $74,505 Annually, depending on qualifications

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the role and may not encompass all responsibilities:

  • Investigate and enforce municipal regulations concerning abandoned vehicles, overgrown vegetation, waste management, animal control, and signage.
  • Support police personnel with traffic management and accident investigations as directed.
  • Conduct animal control operations and maintain proficiency with related equipment.
  • Participate in community problem-solving initiatives and engage in quality of life enhancement activities.
  • Document and relay minor theft incidents to on-duty officers promptly, ensuring accurate information collection.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports as required by supervisory personnel.
  • Assist in managing the customer service desk at the Police Department, enhancing service delivery.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions while maintaining accurate records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar and clear handwriting.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities, with a calm and professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships across various assignments.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing situations, exercising sound judgment and integrity.

Education and Experience
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record is essential.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or related fields is preferred.

Work Environment

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regular communication, visual acuity, and manual dexterity.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching, with occasional climbing and balancing.
  • Work primarily conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions, with exposure to potential hazards.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
