Job Overview

PRIMARY ROLE

The individual in this position is responsible for upholding the visual presentation standards of the showroom in alignment with Corporate Display Guidelines. This role includes processing customer transactions, managing payment procedures, handling phone inquiries, and organizing delivery schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Organizing and showcasing merchandise on the showroom floor in accordance with the Best Seller Report and Display Strategy.
  • Assisting sales representatives in guiding customers through furniture and accessory selections.
  • Potentially offering in-home design consultations.
  • Coordinating the display of accessories and accent items following Corporate Display Guidelines.
  • Completing the Display Coordinator Weekly Checklist and discussing it with the Display Manager and/or General Manager.
  • Labeling accessories in accordance with Corporate Display Guidelines.
  • Monitoring accessory sales utilizing the Best Seller Report.
  • Adjusting the display and pricing of underperforming accessories as indicated by sales data.
  • Providing administrative and/or housekeeping support as needed.

The role may also encompass Office responsibilities:

  • Reconciling cash funds at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Completing daily opening and closing procedure checklists.
  • Preparing and reconciling bank deposits.
  • Accurately processing customer sales and payments.
  • Maintaining a well-organized and secure office environment.
  • Managing incoming calls, directing messages, and overseeing the store's voicemail system.
  • Addressing customer complaints and following up on service requests.
  • Reviewing outstanding customer transactions, including:
    • Ensuring scheduled deliveries are appropriately routed.
    • Coordinating delivery schedules.
    • Verifying the presence of purchase orders for out-of-stock items.
    • Contacting customers regarding product arrivals for pickup.
  • Organizing and preparing daily paperwork.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience of one to three years in cash handling or monetary transactions, such as in Banking, Customer Service, Data Entry, Office Administration, or Medical Records.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and O365 preferred.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Capability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising discretion.
