Position Overview:

The Restaurant Operations Supervisor (ROS) role is designed to support branch leadership in effectively managing intricate quick-service or casual dining restaurant operations.

The ROS guarantees that the establishment is well-maintained, prepared for service, adequately staffed, and adheres to high operational benchmarks. This position employs established policies and procedures to guide management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes opening, daily, and closing checklists in alignment with company protocols.
  • Assists the General Manager/Assistant General Manager in overseeing daily activities of team members across designated restaurants or service points.
  • Ensures adherence to all company beverage regulations and confirms that all staff members are knowledgeable about and comply with beverage service protocols.
  • Participates in the recruitment process, provides feedback on hiring decisions, and recommends actions regarding employee status changes to the General Manager.
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities, aids in creating work schedules, and ensures adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Actively monitors that all team members take required breaks and meal periods.
  • Maintains cleanliness and visual appeal of display areas.
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Handles cash register operations and processes transactions in accordance with cash handling policies, ensuring cash security at all times.
  • Monitors compliance with health and safety standards, promotes awareness of wellness and safety, and reports any safety issues to the General Manager.
  • Understands and executes all health and safety measures as outlined in the Manager's Guide to Associate Health and Safety.
  • Places orders for individual units, receives deliveries, and processes invoices.
  • Ensures the company has up-to-date contact information for all restaurant associates.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work various shifts throughout the week, including opening, peak hours, and closing shifts to oversee team activities.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as compliance with HACCP guidelines.

Reporting Structure:

  • This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • The Restaurant Operations Supervisor typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager.
  • This role requires a flexible schedule to be present during various operational days and hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in food and beverage service, cash handling, and customer relations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a casual dining environment or production kitchen.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as engage comfortably with customers.
