Key Responsibilities:


The Vice President of Manufacturing/Operations will report directly to the President and will be accountable for the strategic planning and execution of the company's comprehensive manufacturing and distribution operations.

This is a high-growth position requiring demonstrated experience in standardizing processes, building teams, and managing both organic and acquisition-driven growth.

Focus on a manual, people-centric manufacturing approach rather than automated processes, catering to a customer-focused environment with thousands of unique projects annually for diverse retail clients.

Only exceptional, 5-star results are acceptable.
This is not a high-volume, low-variability manufacturing setting.


Specific Duties Include:
  • Overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities, including in-house and subcontracted onsite construction.
  • Managing the distribution operations utilizing customized delivery equipment.
  • Creating uniformity across production sites by developing, optimizing, and adhering to established processes.
  • Implementing asset management strategies and enhancing preventive maintenance practices while minimizing repair needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Promoting a culture of safety through training and peer-led safety initiatives.
  • Forecasting labor and material requirements based on sales projections and executing plans aligned with growth objectives while maintaining a positive work environment and high-quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with the President on manufacturing strategies, objectives, and product innovations.
  • Engaging in senior-level negotiations with manufacturing partners and suppliers.
  • Developing and managing budgets with a focus on product costs and profit margins.
  • Directing all aspects of production control, process development, quality assurance, procurement, and logistics.
  • Maintaining just-in-time inventory levels.
  • Formulating strategies for optimal material utilization while minimizing waste.
  • Contributing to both short-term and long-term organizational planning as a member of the executive team.
  • Identifying root causes of recurring issues and implementing effective resolutions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) required, MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in high-touch manufacturing environments, with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing expertise; 5 years in wood materials preferred; must have managed operations exceeding $20 million to $100 million during a growth phase.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Expertise in enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and quality assurance techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AutoCAD drawings.
