Job Function Overview:
This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of Card Operations and ATMs.

Key Responsibilities:
Directs, organizes, and manages Card Operations and ATMs, including debit, credit, and ATM card services.
Collaborates with senior leadership to ensure the effective prioritization of objectives and initiatives. Develops and implements departmental goals, objectives, and project timelines in conjunction with internal partners and key vendor stakeholders.

Establishes, evaluates, and takes necessary actions to achieve departmental goals, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs), while providing relevant management reporting.

Responsible for effective project and program management, ensuring that major initiatives adhere to the product lifecycle, from conception through planning and achieving milestones and key deliverables to full implementation.

Monitors the Card Operations and ATM portfolio to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, while offering guidance, expertise, and direction to the team.

Manages the operational landscape with a clear understanding of technology and infrastructure support requirements.
Accountable for Card Operations P&L, including achieving established revenue targets and managing expenses. Ensures planning, prioritization, and management of activities to optimize revenue, minimize losses, and meet operational, financial, and corporate objectives.
Drives continuous enhancement across Card Operations. Recommends processes, procedures, techniques, and standards to improve the credit union's Card Operations.
Stays informed about the competitive landscape and collaborates with Marketing to develop value-added, innovative, and differentiated products and services.
Works with Marketing to assess Card Operations, including rewards programs for competitiveness. Suggests necessary changes to enhance card programs and increase member market penetration. Actively contributes to marketing initiatives aimed at expanding the credit card portfolio and optimizing interchange revenue.
Fosters a member-centric service-oriented culture. Ensures a consistent member service experience across all service tiers, including Branches, Call Centers, Card Operations, and various channels.
Identifies, assesses, and manages risks within the area, implementing fraud and risk mitigation strategies as appropriate.

In collaboration with Risk Management, responsible for overseeing fraud and loss prevention measures concerning card fraud claims and disputes.

Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to consumer services, financial services, credit unions, and banking.

Administers and guarantees adherence to established credit union policies, procedures, and programs.
Prepares the annual departmental budget, negotiates and modifies contracts as necessary. Develops RFPs for services, conducts cost analysis, makes recommendations on proposals, and implements changes based on selections made.
Recruits, develops, organizes, leads, and mentors the assigned team.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience, & Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field is required, with an advanced degree preferred.

Requires 7-10 years of experience in Financial Services, Credit Unions, or Banking, with a minimum of 3 years in functional areas and 5-7 years of progressively responsible management experience.

Requires a comprehensive understanding of the credit union/banking/financial industry concerning regulations and operations governing debit/credit card, ATM, and related card fraud processes/detection.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to large and diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
Ability to manage competing priorities within a complex portfolio of work. Exceptional strategic thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Experience with P&L management, with a solid understanding of Card Operations, revenue sources, and expense management.
Experience navigating a tiered service environment with Branches, Call Centers, and online service delivery tools.
Project Management and Business process improvement skills are highly desirable. Knowledge of consumer lending, credit, and financial disciplines.
