Are you a seasoned leader in the mortgage industry?


EECU Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Mortgage Operations to oversee all facets of mortgage originations, ensuring timely execution and setting realistic expectations with members, operations, and partners.


Your role will involve meeting sales objectives, enhancing financial performance within the department, and maintaining accountability for the mortgage loan originator (MLO) team’s performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and inspire the Mortgage Loan Originators in the production of various mortgage products, including home equity and home improvement loans.
  • Drive revenue growth and portfolio expansion in alignment with leadership objectives while optimizing the sales process and ensuring effective staffing.
  • Provide continuous feedback to leadership to facilitate adjustments in the mortgage lending program concerning rates, fees, and loan offerings.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of mortgage loan pricing, including servicing value, gain on sale, interest income, and various fees.
  • Occasionally assist in originating loans and provide support to MLOs regarding disclosures, concerns, rates, and loan program inquiries.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships with both new and existing real estate agents in line with the external MLO strategy.
  • Ensure MLOs adhere to loan guidelines and maintain proper documentation, guaranteeing the quality of loan files and compliance with all regulations.
  • Facilitate effective communication with members, vendors, and operations to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Engage in ongoing recruitment efforts to ensure sustained success.
  • Conduct regular MLO meetings to disseminate information, provide training, and offer coaching.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years in the real estate lending sector, with at least 8 years of experience in originating FNMA, FHLMC, and GNMA mortgage loans.
  • Current NMLS number is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Symitar, Encompass – LOS system, and Blend.
  • Strong skills in calculating debt ratios, loan-to-value ratios, and evaluating credit reports, appraisals, and other relevant documents.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities, interpersonal skills, and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development experience, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and credit union products and services.
  • Familiarity with conforming products, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae (FHA and VA) is essential.
  • A college degree is required.
