Key Responsibilities:


The Vice President of Manufacturing/Operations will report directly to the President and will be accountable for the strategic planning and execution of the company's extensive manufacturing and distribution operations.

This role is pivotal for growth, requiring a proven track record in standardizing processes, building teams, and managing both organic and acquisition-driven expansion.

Engage in high-touch, manual, and people-centric manufacturing within a customer-focused environment, handling approximately 4,000 custom projects annually for 3,800 unique retail clients.

Only exceptional 5-star results are acceptable. This is not a high-volume, low-variability machine manufacturing setting.


Responsibilities Include:
  • Overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities, including in-house and subcontracted onsite builds.
  • Managing the distribution operations through customized delivery equipment.
  • Creating consistency across three manufacturing sites by developing, optimizing, and adhering to processes.
  • Implementing asset management strategies and enhancing best practices for preventive maintenance while minimizing repairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Establishing a safety culture through training and peer safety initiatives.
  • Forecasting labor and material requirements based on sales projections while maintaining a positive work environment and high-quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with the President on manufacturing strategies, objectives, and future product innovations.
  • Participating actively in senior-level negotiations with manufacturing partners and suppliers.
  • Developing and managing budgets with a focus on product costs and profit margins.
  • Directing all aspects of production control, process development, quality assurance, purchasing, and shipping/receiving.
  • Managing just-in-time inventory levels.
  • Formulating strategies for optimal material utilization while minimizing waste.
  • Contributing to both short-term and long-term organizational planning as a member of the management team.
  • Identifying root causes of recurring issues and implementing resolutions.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) required, preferably with an MBA.
10 years of experience in high-touch manufacturing, with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing expertise.
5 years of experience in wood materials preferred.
Experience managing operations with revenues between $20 million and $100 million during periods of growth.

Knowledge:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Expertise in enterprise resource planning systems.
Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
Understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance procedures.
Expertise in quality assurance and improvement methodologies.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AutoCAD drawings.
