Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine seeks a Grants & Projects Analyst 1 to join the Office of Medical Research. In this position, the Analyst will assist UNR School of Medicine faculty with grant submissions and actively pursue funding opportunities to expand the School's Basic and Clinical research initiatives.

The Grants & Projects Analyst 1 will play a vital role in supporting the school's grant submission process, including budget preparation, feasibility assessment, and collaboration with Sponsored Projects. They will research and identify suitable funding opportunities for our diverse faculty, while providing training in grant submission processes to junior faculty, postdocs, and students.

This position involves assisting with the development of complex proposals, conducting grant research, and promoting funding opportunities to relevant departments and faculty members. The Grants & Projects Analyst will also be responsible for reviewing supplemental proposals, contracts, and awards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining gr ant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above; OR
  • One year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 33 (Entry, Step 01 $28.38hr - Step 05 $33.66/hr)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
