Position Title: Grants Administrator

Salary: $87, $114,025.60 Annually

Classification Overview:

Under general supervision, the Grants Administrator is responsible for overseeing, planning, and organizing the City’s grant and funding development initiatives. This role includes identifying strategic funding requirements and potential sources from federal, state, local, and private sectors. The administrator will optimize the utilization of available grant funding through effective collaboration across City departments and the efficient use of existing resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and manage the City’s federal and state grant programs.
  2. Research and identify funding opportunities through various databases and publications; attend relevant meetings to stay updated on compliance changes.
  3. Develop and refine grant-related policies and procedures; provide guidance to departments utilizing grants.
  4. Facilitate the creation and execution of long-term and short-term funding strategies that align with the City’s objectives.
  5. Act as a central resource for grant activities, maintaining current knowledge of available funding sources and compliance requirements.
  6. Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  7. Assist departments in the preparation and submission of grant applications and reports.
  8. Provide training and support to City staff in grant management and application processes.
  9. Prepare and analyze financial reports and ensure timely submission of reimbursement requests.
  10. Represent the City in meetings with community organizations and provide technical assistance in grant applications.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in government relations, complemented by experience in grant development or management.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of grants management and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to prepare clear reports and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
