Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Research Development Specialist to join an energetic and growing team for Research & Proposal Development Services (RPDS) within Research & Innovation (R&I).

The Specialist will be part of an energetic and fast-paced team within Research & Innovation that is committed to enhancing the capacity of faculty to apply for and win funding for their research.

This work includes working one-on-one with faculty and teams to project manage research proposals through submission, as well as other support services such as editing, consultations and compliance reviews.

The Specialist will also conceptualize and cooperatively produce in person and virtual training and networking events, interface with sponsors, serve as a subject matter expert, and maintain a high level of knowledge of the research funding landscape.

The Specialist is expected to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to co-develop strategy and carry out office functions.

The Specialist will be expected to interface with faculty from all career stages, University leadership, and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR

Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience

Related experience

Research development or sponsored activities in a university setting or academic environment.

Compensation Grade

Administrative Faculty - B

Total Compensation

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.

Additionally, there is a grant-in-aid educational benefit for faculty and dependents.
