Position Overview

The Grants Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the City of Reno's grant and funding development initiatives. This role involves identifying funding needs and exploring various federal, state, local, and private funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate the City’s federal and state grant programs.
  • Research and analyze funding opportunities through various databases and publications.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to grant management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while monitoring grant activities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, including grant applications and financial reports.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to City staff regarding grant applications and program administration.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to promote effective use of resources.
  • Monitor grant expenditures and ensure timely submission of reimbursement requests.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, along with five years of relevant experience in government relations and grant management.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of grants management and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in using office software and databases.
