Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 1 for Residential Life's Front Desk. **This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.** The major purpose of this position is to provide safety, security, support, and service to a residential community from midnight to 8am. This position will also provide additional administrative support to both Administrative Assistant 2 and Administrative Assistant 3 including, but not limited to: resident/ key audits, charging student accounts, calendar scheduling, and assigned special projects. The ideal candidate will also serve as a point of contact and/or provide additional resources to student staff for situations that do not merit a call to an "on-call" staff member.

PER EXECUTIVE ORDER

ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2024.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one (1) year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR
  • Six (6) months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Schedule

The typical work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00AM - 8:00AM; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 23 (Entry, Step 01 $18.88/hr. - Step 03 $20.42/hr.)

The classified employee pay scale is divided into 10 steps. Most employees start at a step 1 and are eligible for an annual step increase with satisfactory performance, until they reach the maximum, step 10. Initial step placement is based on experience and qualifications. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets.
