Job Description

The College of Science at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking applications for a Personnel Analyst 1. The position will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and editing job descriptions for classified and administrative faculty positions; managing personnel related functions including interpreting and explaining rules, regulations, and procedures; serve as an employee relations specialist; monitor transactions and costing allocations to ensure employee pay through reporting; initiate notice of non-reappointments and terminations; and hiring and training employees. This position will also serve as absence manager and assist with visa processes for employees in the College of Science. This position reports directly to and works closely with the Assistant Dean, Administration.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR
  • Three (3) years' experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 32 (Entry, Step 01 $27.15/hr. - Step 03 $29.56/hr.)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
