Why this role?

Cohere is seeking a proactive and dynamic Sales Leader to join as a Senior Manager, Strategic Sales, and shape the sales strategy while guiding a team through complex deal cycles. As the Sales Manager, you will be expected to lead, coach, and mentor a team of solution-sales-oriented Strategic Account Executives, managing long-term and complex deals. We are looking for a high-impact player/coach with strong leadership skills to propel team performance, drive sales activity, and foster business growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's success while developing and implementing strategic sales vision.

As a Senior Manager, Strategic Sales, you will:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Strategic Account Executives, providing day-to-day support and guidance.

- Collaborate closely with your team, acquiring new customers and expanding Cohere's presence within existing accounts.

- Build and execute a strategic sales plan, including pipeline generation, sales activity, revenue forecasting, and results delivery.

- Take ownership of the team's performance and sales targets, evaluating and driving continuous improvement.

- Foster strong internal partnerships with Product, Partners, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership teams, as well as external relationships with channel partners.

- Identify process improvement opportunities and make strategic recommendations to enhance efficiency and productivity.

- Manage and drive sales activities in the field, establishing solid relationships with key enterprise-sized/F100 client prospects.

You may be a good fit if you have:

- 7+ years of experience in a player/coach role, leading and mentoring a team of sales professionals in a software/SaaS or similar organization.

- 10+ years of experience in sales, including identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale complex sales cycles.

- A proven track record of managing and developing a high-performing sales team, with the ability to motivate and drive results.

- Experience collaborating with and presenting to C-level executives, both internally and externally.

- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and drive process enhancements.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on building solid relationships.
