Position Summary

We are in search of a Business Development Manager who will spearhead revenue growth by cultivating and managing SELF ID's network of Users, Third-party Attestors, and Relying Party (Requester) relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of identifying, initiating, and overseeing new revenue-generating partnerships, along with a demonstrated ability to enhance existing partner and client relationships within a web3 framework. This role necessitates a proactive approach to prospecting, and a disciplined sales methodology is essential. You will be tasked with establishing and nurturing vital relationships with your partners consistently.

As an early contributor to our Business Development team, you will collaborate closely with our Head of Business Development to develop strategic playbooks, validate market entry strategies, and pinpoint new high-value use cases and growth opportunities across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on SELF solutions, including capabilities, differentiators, and service offerings.
  • Develop a pipeline of potential partners, actively pursue high-value relationships, and collaborate with the leadership team to finalize agreements.
  • Manage the complete deal cycle, from initial outreach through negotiation, signing, and implementation.
  • Conduct thorough research and lead generation on customer accounts, prospects, competitors, and industry trends to support sales initiatives.
  • Prepare sales documentation, proposals, reports, contracts, and maintenance agreements for extensive scopes of work, including service deliverables, defined KPIs, and responsibilities of both the company and the client.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and the market, providing insights and feedback on performance, and offering recommendations for accelerating growth.
  • Represent the company professionally in public-facing situations.
  • Monitor the performance of your partner portfolio, identify opportunities for improvement, engage with key stakeholders, and execute collaborative initiatives to achieve results.
  • Work in conjunction with leadership, product, design, and engineering teams to gather insights, address challenges, and foster successful partnership outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business development, growth, ecosystem development, or strategic partnership management, preferably in a web3 or crypto-focused environment.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills – a natural connector and communicator with a strong ability to influence and engage others.
  • Proven track record of managing the end-to-end sales cycle from initial outreach to successful launch.
  • Experience in conducting cold outreach to decision-makers through various channels.
  • Strong analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and comfort in leading commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in medium to large organizations.
  • Expertise in developing market strategies, sales plans, and management approaches for strategic account planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to think creatively and engage a diverse range of stakeholders, including C-Level executives.
  • Strong project management and teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficient in resolving issues and addressing challenges with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to establish confidence with all levels of a client organization, from senior executives to operational staff.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Experience in blockchain, cryptocurrency, or web3 preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Compensation: Salary Range $120,000-$145,000
