Position: Senior Manager, US Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Strategic Support

Overview: The Global Transaction Banking (GTB) division serves as the transaction and payment backbone of Scotiabank, delivering effective treasury management solutions to Small Business, Commercial, and Corporate clients through a premier service model.

As businesses enhance their digital capabilities and adapt their operational frameworks, their payment requirements are also transforming. With a distinctive global presence, GTB offers a comprehensive range of innovative banking solutions designed to help our business clients achieve operational efficiencies, streamline payment processes, enhance working capital performance, and mitigate financial risks.

Purpose: This role is pivotal in contributing to the overall success of US Global Transaction Banking (GTB), ensuring that specific individual objectives, plans, and initiatives align with the business's strategic goals. The Senior Manager will take a lead role in coordinating various strategic initiatives across US GTB, encompassing planning, execution, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating strategic priorities and long-term vision in collaboration with the US GTB team.
  • Collect and analyze necessary information from diverse sources and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for synergy that drive operational awareness and meet business objectives.
  • Support cross-functional project teams in implementing initiatives that align with the overall strategy.
  • Regularly report on the status of current initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing strategies, procedures, and policies.
  • Lead research efforts on key opportunities for the division in line with Scotiabank's strategic priorities.

Project Management:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and opportunities related to US GTB to support the development of aligned initiatives.
  • Establish strategic relationships and alliances within Scotiabank and with external industry partners to manage change effectively.
  • Track, monitor, and communicate the progress of initiatives against defined project milestones to ensure alignment with expectations.
  • Oversee large-scale, multi-project initiatives involving various internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to project milestones, financial delivery, and issue resolution.

Risk Management:

  • Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decision-making.
  • Pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring compliance with operational, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and editing proficiency.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • High organizational and project management capabilities to manage multiple high-priority activities.
  • Strong research skills to gather insights for various projects.
  • Good understanding of GTB objectives, strategies, and structure.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated success in strategy development and leading multi-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize concurrent projects effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing tight deadlines and complex problems.
