The Associate Administrator provides leadership and direction specific to the operation of assigned departments.

The assigned departments will include, but are not limited to ancillary and outpatient services, with a focus on throughput and patient flow.

This position has the capacity to potentially add additional oversight of other ancillary services in the future as needed by the facility.

The Associate Administrator is responsible for establishing objectives, directing daily operations in conjunction with the assigned department heads.

Our 130-bed, acute care hospital offers a wide range of medical programs and services, including cardiology, internal medicine and surgical services.

Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive Administrative experience in a hospital setting. Demonstrates excellent organizational skills/abilities as well as excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner. Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment with the ability to work irregular, long hours. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization . Financial or budgetary experience and customer service excellence preferred.

MHA/MBA/MS in Hospital Administration, healthcare, or related field.
Selects or develops effective department directors, managers, and management staff. Presents a positive image to staff through coaching, team building, recognition of individual contributions, and role-modeling professional behavior. In conjunction with hospital administration, develops, establishes and/or approves operating policies for assigned departments. Assists in the preparation of the budget for all assigned departments.

This should be done based on the review of the current annualized actual of the department recommendations, familiarity with operating procedures, and cost/revenue projection.

Reviews all assigned departmental requests for capital expense items and submits same, with recommendations to the COO.

Ensures the efficient, economical, and quality performance of assigned departments to support and provide quality health care service to all patients.

Works with the management team in the development of short- and long-term hospital goals. Participates in hospital medical staff committee meetings as required.

Works will all departments to identify opportunities for improvement, collect trended and aggregated data, and make changes based on data.
