Position: Residential Support Specialist

Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 12AM-8AM

Supervisor: Area Manager

Salary: Competitive hourly wage

Position Classification: Non-exempt, unionized role represented by Local 8 of the Office of Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).

The Residential Support Specialist is primarily responsible for maintaining security and safety within a residential facility staffed around the clock.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure a secure, clean, and tranquil environment for residents.
  2. Maintain a visible presence at the reception area, overseeing the building via security cameras and monitoring entry and exit points to deter theft, violence, vandalism, and violations of property regulations.
  3. Uphold house rules and guest policies.
  4. Observe and document the activities of individuals entering and leaving the premises.
  5. Regularly inspect the condition of common areas including entrances, hallways, restrooms, and community spaces.
  6. Address residents' inquiries and concerns regarding the facility.
  7. Respond to on-site emergencies, remain on-call with a mobile device, and conduct property checks. Contact emergency services when necessary and notify management of incidents and safety issues.
  8. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of one year of experience in property security.
  2. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  3. Experience working with low-income populations.
  4. Effective communication skills.
  5. Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
