Compensation: Starting at $21.58 per hour

Work Schedule: Full-time with varying shifts, including Day, Swing, or Graveyard. Additional compensation for Graveyard shifts and potential weekend or holiday work.

Position Summary:

Chief Seattle Club is dedicated to providing permanent, affordable, and supportive housing solutions for residents, primarily focusing on Native American and Alaska Native communities. Our housing projects include Sacred Medicine House, ál?al, Goldfinch Elders' Housing, and Salmonberry Lofts. In addition to housing, we offer comprehensive support services aimed at fostering healthy and sustainable living.

The Support Assistant collaborates closely with Case Managers and residents to enhance life at our housing facilities, ensuring culturally sensitive wrap-around services are delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe and healthy community by engaging with residents and promoting positive interactions.
  • Exhibit utmost respect and adherence to trauma-informed care principles at all times.
  • Monitor security systems to ensure the safety of the premises.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the building and report any damages or maintenance needs.
  • Build rapport with residents and manage guest sign-in procedures.
  • Oversee daily operations of the site, including maintenance of common areas and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies, communicating needs as necessary.
  • Facilitate daily property inspections and coordinate required repairs.
  • Participate in community events and staff meetings.
  • Organize and manage incoming donations.
  • Supervise resident activities and maintain accurate logs.
  • Assist case managers and housing stability specialists as needed.
  • Enforce organizational policies and procedures in line with program guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support as required.
  • Ensure completion of daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
  • Offer guidance to residents and address inquiries.
  • Implement consequences for non-compliance when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer usage and capable of instructing others.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and complaints professionally.
  • Experience with homeless or low-income populations is preferred.
  • Understanding of historical and intergenerational trauma within Indigenous communities.
  • Effective crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • CPR & AED certification.
  • Formal training in de-escalation techniques.
  • Experience with Native American populations or strong awareness of Native cultures.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Highly organized, flexible, independent, culturally aware, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and sound judgment.
  • Experience working with at-risk populations is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Positions may involve exposure to individuals experiencing various forms of trauma.
  • Ability to lift, stretch, pull, and push up to 60 lbs.
  • Continuous standing, walking, and sitting may be required.
