JOB OVERVIEW

The Financial Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing all accounting functions, which encompass the collection, processing, analysis, and presentation of data that aids in recognizing potential risks and opportunities for the organization. This role involves managing both financial and operational data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  2. Establish, execute, and uphold policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  3. Coordinate annual financial assessments and audits for internal and external entities.
  4. Assist finance department projects, including software and system upgrades, through necessary research, planning, and execution.
  5. Ensure compliance with global tax regulations, collaborating with external tax consultants as required.
  6. Oversee Accounts Payable, including the preparation of biweekly payment runs.
  7. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and set baseline expectations based on historical data analysis. Produce regular reports that highlight risks and opportunities across the organization.
  8. Support the organization in overall forecasting and budgeting, ensuring compliance through monthly budget versus actual reporting to department heads.
  9. Reconcile various general ledger accounts, aiding in the quarterly balance sheet and income statement analysis.
  10. Collaborate with Cost Accounting on operational costs and general ledger outcomes concerning variance analysis.

SUPERVISORY ROLE/WORK SCHEDULE

This position includes supervisory responsibilities over both exempt and non-exempt staff. It is a full-time role, with work hours typically being Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, or a 9/80 schedule (4 days at 9 hours and 1 day at 8 hours with every other Friday off). Regular onsite attendance is expected, with occasional evening and weekend work as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

(R) Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.

(P) Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.

(R) 8+ years of experience in finance/accounting within a manufacturing setting.

(R) Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

(R) Ability to operate a computer/tablet/keyboard.

(P) Familiarity with SAP ByDesign (or similar ERP systems).

(R) Experience in manufacturing.

(R) Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

SKILLS

Self-motivated, capable of working independently and efficiently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively across departments and all organizational levels. Demonstrated leadership qualities, attention to detail, analytical skills, decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, project management capabilities, and a strong work ethic. Ability to manage and lead others in a high-volume, high-quality, fast-paced environment. Proficient in conflict management, subordinate development, performance measurement, motivation, team building, and understanding diverse perspectives.

CERTIFICATIONS

(P) Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work in a standard office environment and occasionally travel to manufacturing facilities. Requires prolonged sitting at a desk but may also involve standing, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching. Must be able to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.

SALARY RANGE

$115k - $150k, based on experience.
