JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Controller is accountable for overseeing all financial operations, which encompasses the collection, processing, analysis, and presentation of data that aids in recognizing potential risks and opportunities for the organization. This role involves both financial and operational data management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  2. Establish, execute, and uphold policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  3. Coordinate annual financial assessments and audits for internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Assist finance department projects, including software and system upgrades, through research, planning, and execution as necessary.
  5. Ensure compliance with global tax regulations, collaborating with external tax consultants as required.
  6. Supervise Accounts Payable, including the biweekly check run preparation.
  7. Help identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and set baseline expectations based on historical data analysis. Produce regular reports that facilitate the identification of risks and opportunities across the organization.
  8. Support the organization in overall forecasting and budgeting, ensuring compliance through monthly budget versus actual reporting to department heads.
  9. Reconcile various general ledger accounts, aiding in the quarterly balance sheet and income statement flux analysis.
  10. Collaborate with Cost Accounting on operational costs and general ledger results concerning variance analysis.

  1. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for enhancing business processes or data systems.

  4. Follow all relevant procedures pertaining to this role.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position includes supervisory responsibilities over both exempt and non-exempt support staff. It is a full-time role, with working hours typically being Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, or a 9/80 schedule (4 days at 9 hours and 1 day at 8 hours with every other Friday off). Regular onsite attendance is expected, with occasional evening and weekend work as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

(R) Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.

(P) Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.

(R) 8+ years of experience in financial/accounting roles within a manufacturing context.

(R) Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

(R) Capability to operate a computer/tablet/keyboard.

(P) Familiarity with SAP ByDesign (or similar ERP systems).

(R) Experience in manufacturing environments.

(R) Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

SKILLS

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently under general guidance and limited supervision to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction across departments and all organizational levels. Leadership qualities are necessary, including attention to detail, analytical skills, decision-making abilities, problem-solving capabilities, project management skills, a strong work ethic, and the capacity to manage and lead others in a high-volume, high-quality, fast-paced environment. The ability to handle conflict management, subordinate development, and performance measurement while fostering team spirit and morale is crucial. Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects successfully, are required. Demonstrated logical reasoning skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting are also important.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

(P) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

PHYSICAL/VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires the ability to work in a standard office environment, with occasional travel to warehouse/manufacturing facilities. It involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, but may also require standing, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching to perform job functions. The ability to safely lift items weighing up to 20 lbs is necessary.

SALARY DESCRIPTION

$115k - $150k, depending on experience.
