Job Description

Job Title: Sales Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to join our team at MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the sales process within assigned territories, developing business relationships with prospects, and executing strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Continuously ensure assigned territory growth and profitability by developing solid business relationships with prospects.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategies and sales tactics in the following areas: territory planning, pre-request for proposal prospecting, relationship development, pricing, presentation and delivery, negotiations, closing and managing contracts and execution.
  • Lead Identification and Qualification: Identify leads that fit within ideal client profiles for the purpose of marketing the company's products and services. Qualify identified leads to determine best products and services that will meet potential client's needs. Initiate contact and follow-up on sales meetings and teleconferences.
  • Sales Performance: Meet sales objectives and targets at profitable rates and moves prospects into implementation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with marketing team to create customized proposals and communication for prospective clients. Develop familiarity with potential clients to educate internal stakeholders on the market demands and prospect specific needs.
  • Sales Presentations: Organize and conduct sales presentations, site visits and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Relationship Building: Foster ongoing mutually beneficial relationships with national and regional consultants within the healthcare industry.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a solid knowledge of all of MedImpact's offerings and products.
  • Brand Representation: Maintain the positive branding of MedImpact within the healthcare industry.
  • Team Performance: Strengthen the team's performance by sharing information, supporting sales and marketing activities.
  • Leadership: Exercise leadership, demonstrate results-oriented sales planning, work in a positive and motivating way with internal counterparts and external clients.
  • Communication: Routinely update SalesForce with key client information and utilize contact management software to manage pipeline activity.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Manage the award of business to commencement of implementation activity by disseminating sales knowledge to internal colleagues in formal and informal meeting settings and written documentation.
  • Market Expertise: Help educate colleagues on market dynamics and competitive landscape.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience in a healthcare or PBM environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Requirements: Minimum of five (5) years proven experience in the following areas:
    • Sales and Negotiation: Successful selling and/or upselling of strategic benefits, products and services to senior-level decision makers in a healthcare or PBM environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Negotiation and Contract Management: Successful negotiation of new sales contracts and/or contract renewals with existing clients.
    • Relationship Building: Building relationships with key decision makers as a credible subject matter expert and consultant.
    • Industry Expertise: Prior experience working with healthcare leaders, human resources and benefits professionals, Third Party Administrators (TPAs), consulting firms, and other related industry experts is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with PBM, related health care management or healthcare technology. Prior experience with and working knowledge of health plans (commercial, managed Medicaid and MAPD) is highly preferred. Executive-level selling experience is preferred.
