Position Overview

Role Summary

The Chief Technology Strategy Officer is tasked with fostering collaboration across all organizational levels to enhance the utilization of current business systems and to create synergies that promote cost-effective and innovative solutions aligned with the organization’s objectives. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing the digital strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overarching enterprise strategy to address future requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Directs the technology team in overseeing the management of infrastructure, hardware, software, and both internal and external systems, including telecommunications.
  2. Builds, develops, and maintains a highly skilled team of technology professionals to fulfill the organization’s needs while nurturing a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability.
  3. Collaborates with business leaders to drive transformation and address operational challenges, initiating and sustaining a technology planning strategy with contributions from cross-functional teams to meet key objectives efficiently.
  4. Facilitates the organization’s digital transformation by assessing technology requirements, formulating implementation strategies, and maximizing system benefits.
  5. Leads data governance initiatives to ensure stakeholder engagement, ownership, and oversight of critical data.
  6. Oversees compliance and security policies, developing and maintaining technology risk management protocols and recommending enhancements for disaster recovery and business continuity.
  7. Provides strategic recommendations on cybersecurity measures and ensures the protection of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
  8. Evaluates systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability, focusing on enhancing the member experience through collaboration with staff and external vendors.
  9. Assists senior leadership in defining the mission and vision of the technology department to cultivate a business-oriented culture.
  10. Manages technology budgets to ensure cost-effective operations and supports the development of the capital budget.
  11. Negotiates and administers agreements with technology vendors and service providers.
  12. Engages with relevant committees, providing necessary administrative support and attending meetings as required.
  13. Mentors and guides staff and project teams, setting clear expectations and monitoring progress while providing regular feedback to all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce/Nimble is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in IT leadership, execution, and delivery, with a history of implementing innovative IT solutions that support business objectives.
  • Experience in integrating third-party systems with management systems.
  • Exceptional management, organizational, customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff, vendors, and partners.
  • Strong prioritization skills to manage staff responsibilities based on business impact.
  • Self-motivated senior IT leader with robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in fostering collaborative relationships across multiple units and organizations.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and evolve systems and solutions that support organizational success.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and time management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple projects under pressure.
  • Expertise in budget management and financial forecasting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Commitment to maintaining high professional standards of integrity and ethics.
