Job Overview

The Chief Human Resources Officer will oversee, guide, and enhance the policies, initiatives, and personnel of the Human Resources (HR) division, ensuring adherence to legal standards and the effective execution of the organization's mission and talent management strategy. This role encompasses both administrative and strategic functions, collaborating closely with the Chief Strategy Officer to manage daily HR operations, including employee relations, policy guidance, benefits administration, training and development, organizational growth, and new employee orientation, while also supporting recruitment efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the HR division and align HR strategies with our organizational goals and core values; collaborate with executive leadership to design and implement programs and policies that foster a skilled, diverse, and engaged workforce.

Develop and oversee the Human Resources operational budget along with other designated project budgets.

Assess staffing and recruitment requirements; establish and implement best practices for hiring and talent management. Conduct or arrange for background checks and eligibility verifications for employees.

Administer or supervise the management of HR programs, which include competitive compensation, benefits, leave policies, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, performance and talent management, employee recognition, occupational health and safety, and training initiatives.

Lead and manage the performance evaluation process. Propose performance assessment strategies; ensure timely and constructive evaluations are conducted across the organization by monitoring adherence to established timelines throughout the year, providing necessary training and support to supervisors to foster a continuous cycle of coaching and feedback.

Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Conduct research and analyze organizational trends, including reviewing reports and metrics from the HR information system (HRIS) or talent management system.

Oversee the new hire orientation and onboarding process by coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless and positive experience for new employees.

Ensure the organization complies with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices; review and adjust policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources records.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred. A Master's degree is advantageous.

A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in human resources is required.

A proven track record of successfully implementing HR programs and initiatives.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality documentation.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
