Position Summary

The Relief Staff Residential Counselor at Ascentria Care Alliance plays a crucial role in supporting and guiding residents within the Teen Parenting Programs. These initiatives provide essential transitional housing for mothers and their children facing economic hardships or homelessness, fostering a secure and nurturing atmosphere. The counselor is responsible for assisting residents in developing the necessary life skills for successful independent living. This role offers a per diem compensation that is commensurate with experience and educational background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recognize and respond to the developmental needs of residents while addressing environmental and psychological factors.
  • Apply behavior management strategies to support individuals dealing with trauma-related challenges.
  • Aid residents in their daily activities, including chores, educational tasks, and leisure pursuits.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy living environment, free from disruptive influences.
  • Provide guidance on daily living activities and program regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory; an Associate's Degree in Human Services is preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience working with women, adolescents, or children is essential.
  • A valid driver's license along with certifications in First Aid and CPR is required.
