Job Overview

Veterans Inc. is dedicated to providing essential support to Veterans and their families in New England. We are currently looking for compassionate individuals to join our team as Supportive Services Counselors. This role is crucial in fulfilling our mission to assist those who have served our country.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be part of a dedicated team available around the clock, ensuring the safety and well-being of up to 16 women and their children residing in our Transitional Care Facility. This program uniquely accommodates both civilians and veterans, allowing residents to stay for up to two years, with most typically residing for less than 12 months. In some instances, residents may have the opportunity to remain permanently after completing the transitional program.

Daily Duties Include:
  • Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Ensuring resident safety and confidentiality, including conducting bag checks, administering breathalyzer tests, and managing incoming calls for residents.
  • Preparing and submitting comprehensive reports detailing shift activities, incidents, and emergencies.
  • Overseeing the safety and security of the facility, company vehicles, and all property belonging to Veterans Inc.
  • Acting as the first responder for client-related emergencies, with training in CPR, First Aid, and Narcan administration.
  • Assisting with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in direct care services, residential support, or security.
  • Ability to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
  • Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, with consideration for religious and medical exemptions.
  • Willingness to undergo and pass a drug test.
