The role of a Residential Counselor at Ascentria Care Alliance focuses on delivering guidance and support to participants in the Teen Parenting Programs. These initiatives provide transitional housing for mothers and their children facing economic hardships or homelessness, fostering a secure and nurturing atmosphere. The counselor plays a crucial role in assisting residents in developing essential life skills for successful independent living. This position operates on a per diem basis, with compensation that increases based on experience and educational qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recognize and address the developmental needs of residents while considering environmental and mental health influences.
- Apply behavior management strategies to help navigate trauma-related behaviors.
- Support residents in their daily activities, including chores, educational tasks, and leisure pursuits.
- Ensure a safe and healthy living environment, free from disruptive actions.
- Provide guidance on daily living activities and adherence to program regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory; an Associate's Degree in Human Services is preferred.
- At least one year of relevant experience working with women, adolescents, or children is essential.
- A valid driver's license along with certifications in First Aid and CPR is required.

Educational Background
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or a related discipline.
Experience Required
A minimum of one year of experience working with women, adolescents, or children in a residential or community context.
Licenses & Certifications Required
MA Driver's License, CPR, and First Aid certifications are necessary.
