Responsibilities
Open Sky supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities referred by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Our mission is to create safe, nurturing homes that cater to individual needs and preferences. Residents are encouraged to engage actively in community life through volunteering, classes, group outings, or health club participation. Our dedicated staff ensures individuals have the necessary support and skills to lead successful, fulfilling lives.
The Residential Support Specialist assists individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities in achieving as much independence as possible while providing evidence-based care in a group living environment. Responsibilities include offering guidance, support, and assistance with daily living activities. By implementing procedures that prioritize health, safety, and well-being, counselors help individuals lead healthy, productive, and independent lives. They advocate for those they serve, recognizing the importance of community integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and take a lead role in daily implementation.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the living environment.
- Assist individuals in accessing transportation as needed.
- Complete all required documentation accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.
