Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Training: Supervise and train 8-15 Resident Advisers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to manage their roles effectively.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive Residential Curriculum model, working under the leadership of the Assistant Director to enhance student learning and development.
  • Student Conduct: Serve as a University Hearing Officer to facilitate student conduct proceedings, ensuring fair and impartial decision-making.
  • On-Call Support: Serve as an on-call staff person for the residential community, responding to policy infractions, crisis situations, and student incidents on campus.
  • Care Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Care Team to address student support needs related to personal, academic, and housing-related concerns.
  • Staff Meetings and Communication: Conduct weekly staff meetings and regular one-on-one meetings with Resident Advisers to share information and discuss student and Hall/House-related concerns.
  • Community Engagement: Provide leadership for students and staff to initiate, implement, and evaluate educational, social, recreational, and community service programs for residential students.
  • Budget Management: Manage professional development, staff development, and hall programming budgets, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Facilities Management: Support the Assistant Director for Housing Operations or their designee in managing residential facilities and operating residence halls.
  • RA Training and Development: Support the Assistant Director for Residential Education or their designee in planning and implementing RA training programs, in-service training programs, and RA socials.
  • Hall Council Oversight: Oversee Hall Councils for respective residential communities, facilitating weekly meetings and regular meetings with hall council leadership.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Participate in the growth and development of the Center, Division, and Clark University, supporting students' onboarding and off-boarding process, and contributing to critical retention, internship, and career curriculum initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, with degree specialization in Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs/College Student Personnel preferred.
  • Experience: Previous residential life experience at the RA or professional level is strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Flexible and adaptable, high-energy approach to student development and proven ability to engage students, strong customer service and communication skills, ability to work autonomously, proficient with Microsoft Office, basic budgeting skills, and a strong understanding of student development.
