Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 4 to 5 accounting professionals and play a key role in accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end general ledger accounts, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, fixed asset management, and various employee benefit accounting (Health, FSA, PTO, 401(k), Phantom Stock).
  • Ensure accurate month-end closing processes.
  • Provide tax compliance support for various state and city reporting.
  • Manage tracking of credit applications, client, and vendor registrations.
  • Assist in reconciling insurance programs (WC, GL, Auto).
  • Support Project Managers with Sage entry for job schedules, values, estimates, and owner change orders.
  • Reconcile contracts upon project completion.
  • Update and track work in progress.
  • Assist leadership with revenue forecasting.
  • Prepare internal quarterly financial statements.
  • Help in the preparation of external year-end reviews, financial statements, and tax returns with third-party accountants.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries as needed.
  • Support the execution of company policies and procedures.
  • Review and manage current and future accounting software systems.
  • Identify and recommend general process enhancements.
  • Perform other corporate accounting duties or supervise assigned tasks.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry (General Contractor preferred).
  • Experience with Sage CRE software.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated.
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proactive and willing to exceed expectations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
