The Role:

We are seeking a meticulous Senior Accountant specializing in Revenue to play a key role in our revenue recognition processes and assist in transitioning our accounting operations in-house.

This position will focus on ensuring adherence to technical accounting standards such as ASC606 and refining our billing procedures, making process orientation and project management skills essential.

With a background in revenue accounting, you will collaborate closely with our Senior Accounting Manager, Revenue to establish, evaluate, and implement various new processes aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of revenue accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Contribute to the revenue recognition process in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of billing operations. This includes:

  • Preparing invoicing batches
  • Creating journal entries
  • Conducting account reconciliations
  • Managing accounts receivable and collections schedules
  • Generating commissions reports
  • Preparing disclosure schedules for financial statements
  • Performing fluctuation analysis to support management decision-making

- Oversee daily revenue accounting tasks to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.

- Collaborate with global accounting teams to maintain consistent application of corporate policies and ASC 606, covering invoicing, collections, deferred revenue amortization, and commissions reporting.

- Review and refine billing processes while contributing to commissions plans, ensuring compliance with deadlines.

- Assist departmental leaders with special projects, research, and additional reporting needs.

- Work alongside cross-functional teams on commissions, data flows, and other initiatives.

- Engage in process optimization and automation efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through various technological solutions.

- Take an active role in your professional development and partner with management to foster your growth.

- Participate in other assignments and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

- A strong desire to learn and embrace new challenges.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or on the CPA track, with a preference for candidates with public accounting experience.

- A proactive approach to challenging existing processes and leveraging technology to create scalable solutions, enhance efficiencies, and streamline accounting operations.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment while ensuring accuracy.

- Proven capability to work effectively within a team and build strong relationships with management and colleagues.

- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

- Familiarity with revenue recognition processes and standards, particularly ASC606.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace applications, including Google Sheets and Google Docs.

- Experience with ERP systems, particularly those suited for startups to mid-tier companies, is advantageous.

- Prior experience with revenue accounting software and SaaS platforms is preferred.
