Job Summary

Acord is dedicated to fostering collaborative operations research and development, and we are seeking an Accounting Manager who aligns with our mission and values.

The primary focus of this role is to oversee the month-end financial closing process and manage external audit engagements.
Essential Job Functions
Regular Activities
  • Guide and mentor team members in daily financial operations.
  • Take ownership of the monthly financial closing activities.
  • Reconcile all banking and credit card transactions, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries along with necessary supporting documentation.
  • Conduct general ledger reconciliations and manage all journal entries and adjustments.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial transactions and processes within the organization.
  • Review and approve all accounts payable invoices, supporting the accounts receivable and payable teams.
  • Serve as the primary reviewer for payroll processes and provide backup support to the payroll team.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance internal controls and streamline processes.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer with various financial reporting tasks.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting or industry accounting is required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and internal control frameworks.
  • 7+ years of experience with accounting software, specifically QuickBooks.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with precision and efficiency, seeking clarification when necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Capacity to learn new software systems quickly.
