Lead Financial Accountant
We are a dynamic and expanding provider of high-density fiber networks, seeking a qualified individual for the role of Lead Financial Accountant. This position is essential for overseeing the monthly financial closing process, maintaining balance sheet support schedules, assisting with tax and audit preparations, conducting ad-hoc reporting, and ensuring the precise recording of financial transactions.

This role reports directly to the CFO and offers significant opportunities for professional growth. As part of a small yet effective team, the successful candidate will be self-driven, collaborative, and enthusiastic about taking on new responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain the general ledger and financial records in alignment with GAAP standards.
  • Facilitate the monthly closing process and the preparation of financial statements.
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts and maintain relevant supporting schedules.
  • Conduct ad-hoc general ledger analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of annual audits.
  • Collaborate with accounting personnel and tax professionals to guarantee timely and accurate tax return filings.
  • Prepare and submit state and local taxes, including property and sales/use taxes.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of transactions and reporting.
Qualifications:
  • A strong desire for professional growth and increased responsibilities.
  • A hands-on, team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in general ledger accounting and managing complex accounting issues.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct.
  • Prior experience in a public accounting firm is advantageous.
  • Experience in the telecommunications sector is a plus.
