POSITION OVERVIEW

TheCurrent Inc. is on the lookout for a Senior Vice President, Client Experience, specializing in corporate communications. This role requires a proactive individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and a comprehensive understanding of integrated media.

The Senior Vice President will oversee corporate-focused initiatives, providing strategic counsel and support in areas such as narrative and messaging development, executive visibility, thought leadership, internal communications, media relations, and reputation management. Additionally, this role involves acting as the primary client liaison and mentoring junior team members.

Experience in sustainability communications is advantageous, given our diverse portfolio of work. The position will also play a crucial role in contributing to new business initiatives and expanding our corporate account portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the execution of multiple client programs, managing budgets and strategic plans.
  • Maintain regular client communication, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams (strategy, creative, integrated media specialists) while managing account-focused team members.
  • Drive the creation of communication strategies, translating them into actionable plans and ensuring team deliverables align with objectives.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted industry expert, delving deep into clients' businesses to provide valuable insights.
  • Propose enhancements and innovative ideas to exceed client expectations by leveraging industry knowledge.
  • Oversee team resourcing and staffing to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to the professional development of junior team members, acting as a mentor and role model.
  • Engage in agency development and assist with new business initiatives.
  • Exhibit financial acumen in budgeting, billing, and staffing management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in reputation management and corporate communications, ideally with both agency and in-house backgrounds.
  • Expertise in corporate communications, with a focus on sustainability and internal communications.
  • Experience working with integrated teams and executing integrated campaigns.
  • Familiarity with reputation, issues, and crisis management.
  • Ability to translate client needs into actionable plans and projects.
  • Confident presenter and persuasive communicator.
