Position Summary: As the Vice President of Central Operations, you will spearhead the strategic direction and planning for the Central Operations organization. Your leadership will unify the centralized operations teams to align with Arch Capital's overarching operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute strategies to enhance Central Operations, focusing on standardizing underwriting processes while optimizing functional expertise and quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Strategic Operations Management, Process Excellence, and other relevant teams to implement solutions that enhance efficiency and customer focus.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish clear goals and action plans to ensure that operational standards align with Arch Capital's business objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline underwriting services, reduce turnaround times, and boost operational efficiency.
  • Lean Practices: Collaborate with Operations Leadership to develop Standard Work and promote lean methodologies across the Central Operations organization.
  • Technology Integration: Leverage automation and technology tools to enhance data management, optimize processes, and improve employee engagement.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor performance metrics and OKRs to drive operational success within the Central Operations team.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the Central Operations budget, ensuring cost optimization and effective resource allocation.
  • Talent Development: Lead multiple teams, fostering a diverse and skilled workforce across various operational functions.
  • Capability Building: Enhance operational capabilities to drive performance and service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Central Operations or Shared Services with a proven track record of progressive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, with experience managing diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external customer experiences.
  • Proficient in team management and fostering a collaborative, results-driven culture.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with familiarity in Lean principles to drive process enhancements.
  • Ability to implement technology solutions across various functions effectively.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable and accountable, with a self-starter attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Arch systems.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 12 years of experience in an Insurance Operations role.
