Business Development Manager

Reports to: Executive Director of Business Development

FLSA Status: EXEMPT

Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00a to 5:00p) extended hours may be required to support business needs

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute sales strategies while leveraging technical expertise in diverse metalworking sectors.
  • Discover potential clients who could benefit from the company's offerings and capabilities.
  • Uncover new sales prospects within the existing client base.
  • Formulate strategic marketing initiatives that highlight technical strengths aimed at specific market segments.
  • Devise approaches to deliver products or services that align with customer requirements while adhering to company goals.
  • Achieve sales objectives and manage sales projects efficiently.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships by addressing needs, resolving issues, and crafting effective solutions.
  • Compile reports and present findings to the Executive Management Team.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.

Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated technical sales experience in steel or aluminum fabrication.
  • Established connections within automotive-component manufacturing, defense, heavy agriculture, truck, and trailer sectors.
  • Experience with Tier 1 and OEM contract reviews and program management.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a solid grasp of financial reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organizational abilities and self-management proficiency.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret data and work with numerical information.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50% of the time.
  • Possession of a valid, active Passport is required.

Work Environment:

Operates in an office and plant setting. Engages in communication via telephone with vendors, customers, and Plant Management.

Must uphold confidentiality when collaborating with the Executive and Plant Management Team.
