Position Overview

This role is designed to enhance the MacAllister 'pull strategy' across all retail locations, addressing the equipment needs of both new and existing customers, including rental options. Beyond facilitating equipment sales, this position will also serve as a vital customer support representative.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:
  • Act as the company's representative within a designated geographic area, engaging with both existing and prospective clients. The equipment portfolio includes all Cat BCP Products, Used Equipment, and Work Tools.
  • Manage all incoming inquiries related to BCP, Used, or Work Tool equipment sales, ensuring customer needs are identified and addressed. This includes building strong relationships, presenting pricing and financing options, and closing sales or directing leads to appropriate sales personnel.
  • Ensure comprehensive support for all customer requirements across the enterprise, including Parts, Service, Pump & Shoring, Sitech, Ag, and Rental services, utilizing company systems effectively. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate customer databases and fleet information, and proactively communicating relevant company offers.
  • Collaborate closely with the HE Sales Development Manager, CCE Sales Manager, and Rental Services Branch Manager to align on sales budgets, unit objectives, and the balance between market share and profitability.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and maintain an accurate database of accounts and equipment.
  • Support all activities related to BCP, Used, and Work Tools in the assigned territory by providing quotes and necessary documentation for sales activities.
  • Work in a team-oriented manner with other MacAllister sales and service personnel, assisting colleagues to achieve collective sales goals.
  • Respond promptly to requests from sales support staff, recognizing the significance of each contribution to the team's overall success.
  • Conduct equipment presentations and demonstrations at retail locations.
  • Complete all required company documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction equipment sector, preferably with Caterpillar products.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar offerings.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business.
  • 5 or more years of experience in sales of Caterpillar construction equipment.
  • Experience working with municipal clients.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the full range of products, including Caterpillar.

  • Capability to develop and maintain knowledge of Caterpillar BCP, Work Tool, and Used Equipment.

  • Skill in assessing customer needs and measuring satisfaction.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive solutions to customers, emphasizing the full range of MacAllister products and services.
